Summer 2016
International House is a non-profit based in Fort Wayne, Texas that provides services to refugees like ESL classes, childcare, and support groups. They were in desperate need of a new website design to attract donors, provide information to volunteers, and communicate services to clients.
Problem: The Interntional House website was using a stock template from an outdated CMS which severely limited their ability to update their website. The client needed a fresh look for the website in addition to a better way to access the back end and make changes. With no mobile functionality, the site was essentially useless to half of the clients donors and volunteers
Solution: Using the Bootstrap 4 library to ensure mobile compatibility, I built them a site starting from a design template and customizing it for their specific needs. Built on the OctoberCMS platform, I was able to integrate a blog as well as the ability to edit the site all within a lightweight system. Now the non-profit is able to focus on providing donors and volunteers with the information they need to help the project.
